Our Team

Say hello!

Raelynn Brassard - President

Raelynn's journey with the Ronald McDonald House began simply—by cooking a meal for house families over 8 years ago. That first "Meals that Mend" experience sparked a deep commitment, leading her to co-found a university fundraising group, to then becoming a weekly volunteer at the House, and finally joining the Red Shoe Society board in 2019. Now, as President, she is thrilled to lead the Society in building a supportive community and raising funds to keep families together when they need it most.

Ayodeji Kulepa - Vice-President

Ayodeji (Deji) is a researcher at the University of Alberta whose journey with the Ronald McDonald House began through volunteering with a U of A fundraising group. His first experience decorating Christmas socks with the children left a lasting impression and inspired him to stay involved. Over time, he continued volunteering by helping prepare meals for families at the House. In 2022, he joined the Red Shoe Society board and now serves as Vice President. Outside of volunteering, he enjoys watching, playing, and coaching soccer, as well as travelling.

Jimmy Lu - Secretary

Jimmy Lu is a researcher at the University of Alberta, where he studies how proteins bind their inhibitory compounds at the molecular level. When his son needed to stay in the NICU for a week, Jimmy saw firsthand how stressful it can be for families with a child in the hospital. The experience inspired him to give back and support families during some of their most difficult times. As a member of the Red Shoe Society since 2022, Jimmy continues to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton raising money and donation items for the annual fundraising events held by RSS, and cooking meals for families staying at the house
